Obituary:
His favorite hobby was a good game of Dominoes with friends and his special interests were his family. He felt best with the closeness of his family and enjoyed his many friends with whom he loved to visit.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nora Lee, an infant son, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John M. Pyeatt, two grandchildren and five brothers.
He is survived by four daughters, Virgie Cornett of Higgins, Texas, Leona Eaton of Stockton, California; Jean Touchstone of Leedey, and Hazel Lilies of Oklahoma City and by two sons, Johnny Lee Pyeatt of Lake Tahoe, California and Henry Pyeatt of Sweetwater, Oklahoma; fifteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and one sister, Lola Fincher of Amarillo, Texas, other loved ones and many friends.
Casket Bearers were his grandsons and Flower Girls were his granddaughters.
Honorary Bearers were Ernest Currier, George Green, Si Lovett, Clyde McLean, LaFayette McClellan and Seba West.
Interment was in the Red Star Cemetery, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
Services for Arl Pyeatt were held September 15, 1986 in the Red Star Brethren In Christ Church at Leedey with Charley Denney, Past Missionary Baptist Church, and Clyde Denney, retired pastor of Roll, Oklahoma officiating.
Lester Arl Pyeatt was born May 1905 at Paden, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma to John Miller Pyeatt and Nannie Palmer Pyestt. He passed from this life September 13, 1986 at St. Anthon'y Hospital, Oklahoma City at the age of eighty-one years.
He grew to manhood in the Three Corner Community and attended the Three Corner School.
On January 24, 1935, Lester Pyeatt and Nora Lee Harris were united in marriage. Four daughters Virgie, Leona, Jean and Hazel and one son, Henry were born to this union. Also two other children, from previous marriage had been born to Arl, Johnny Lee Pyeatt and an infant son who preceded him in death.
Mr. Pyeatt was not a member of the Church but he frequently attended the Cheyenne Baptist Church.


Nora Lee Harris

Obituary:
Nora Lee Pyeatt, 68, of Cheyenne was born Jan. 9, 1917 in Clinton and died Oct. 14, 1985 in Roger Mills Hospital, Cheyenne. Her parents were William H. and Nora Bell Harris. She was married Jan. 24, 1935 to Lester Arl Pyeatt in Cheyenne.
She was a member of the Cheyenne Baptist Church since 1973. Following her marriage she lived in the Three Corners community until moving to Cheyenne in January, 1973. She was known as "the lady who made quilts," for her love of quilting.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, three brothers and two grandchildren. Survivors are: her husband, arl, of the home; four daughters, Virgie Cornett, Higgins, Texas; Leona Eaton of Stockton, Calif.; Jean Touchstone, of Leedey; Hazel Liles, Oklahoma City; two sons, Johnny Lee Pyeatt, Lake Tahoe, Calif,; and Henry Pyeatt, Sweetwater; 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren; one sister, Pearl Campbell, of Indio, Calif.
Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Cheyenne. Aubrey Cowen and A.L. Martin will officiate. Interment will be in the Red Star Cemetery, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
