Richard Rimmer

Marriage Certificate of Richard & Jane gives Richard's father as Peter. Census gives DOB as 1830-32

It is assumed that Richard is part of this family, although he does not appear on any census returns with them. He is present in Fleetwood at the same time as Robert & Peter junior and I assume that they are brothers.

In the 1841 census I have found the entry for Peter & Ellen but there are NO children listed there.

In the 1851 census I have found the family with all the children but Richard, but there is a Richard, born Abt 1831/32 in service to Ellen Sutch and this may be him, although there are 3/4 other Richard Rimmer's about, all born around this time - Need to check the whereabouts of all other contenders.

In the 1861 census Richard is "married" to Jane and living in Fleetwood with 2 sons, although the marriage certificate is dated 1864.

In the St Cuthbert's baptism register I have found the baptism of Richard's "brother" Peter - 1830 and Edward - 1832, but nothing for Richard.

Walter Herron Buchanan

According to the 1930 Curry County New Mexico census, Walter Buchanan's family had all moved out, and his wife had died. He took in boarders and had a nephew staying with him. The boarders were O.S. Little, 37, who worked for the railroad as a machinist, Little's wife Effie, 28, their children, Velma Ruth, 10, Gladys Marie, 7 and Roy Lee, 3. Walter's nephew was W. A. Buchanan, 22, from Arkansas, who was staying with him while attending school, U of A (University of Arizona?).
