Giovanni Manganiello, #164-my great-grandfather, said he was going to visit his brother, Carmine, in Wilkes-Barre. The year was 1898. Soundex cards at the National Archives listed at least two Carmines arriving in the US. One arrived went to Pittston, PA on -7-1897, came aboard the SS Augusta Victoria. The second came aboard the SS Samrione on 5-11-1900; this one was from Montefusco.
Added Cecilia to family based on comments on ship arrival records. She and her husband, a Barone, were travelling with Giovanni and Angelo to the US. They arrived aboard the SS Tartar Prince on May 9, 1899, having sailed from Naples. I was able to also get her children's names from this list
