2003 Piatt Researchers Conference

     Welcome to the 2003 Piatt Research Conference in beautiful and historic Richmond, Virginia.
     This is a free conference for persons interested in researching the Piatt surname in all spellings.  Professional genealogists and other professionals may qualify for educational or business tax credit for this conference.  Please contact info@piattresearchres.net if you require an invoice.
      Accomodations are available at Virginia Commonwealth University, Gladding Residence Center, at a nominal cost of $20 per bed per night (rooms are two persons).  Breakfast is also available at the University Dining Hall for under $5.  Linen and unbunking are also available for a small additional feel.  Please see www.piattresearchers.net for fees and registration information.
Gladding Residence Center is located at 711 West Main Street.  Parking is available by the hour at the parking deck nearby or at Paragon Pharmacy at 801 West Cary Street (by pre-arranged permit for a fee of $25 per vehicle for the week).

WHAT ELSE SHOULD I KNOW?


VCU does not provide pillows.  Beds are bunked singles, but unbunking is available for a nominal fee at registration.
The Residence Hall is air conditioned.
Washer and Dryer facilites are available in the GRC.

Sunday June 22: Check in 4-6 pm  Common area of GRC, 711 W. Main St.
Class: Overview of Richmond Research (Robin Pyatt Bellamy) 7-8pm.

Group meeting after.  

Monday June 23:  Virginia Historical Society, 10 am. Admission is $5 or use one of the package tickets. 
Class: Intro to Piatts  (Richard O. Piatt),  7-8 pm.

Group meeting after.  
 
 

Tuesday June 24:  Library of Virginia, 9am. Group tour of the Archives provided by an on-site staff member then research  on your own.
Class:  Brick  Walls  (Sharolynn  Pyeatt)  7-8 pm.

Wednesday June 25:   Library or other research.
Dinner:  Annabelle Lee  Riverboat, boarding at 6:30.  Cruise is from 7-9:30pm and features a full southern buffet and entertainment. Be prepared to pay cash for any drinks except coffee or tea, and gratuity.

No class or group meeting this evening. 
 

Thursday June 26th:   Research venue of your choice.
Class:  DNA for Genealogy (Laverne Ingram Piatt)  7-8.

Friday June 27th:  Research venue of your choice.

Group meeting after.

Saturday June 28th:  Checkout.  By noon please.
