Phillip Wayne Pyatt, 49, of Hurricane went home to be with the Lord, Friday, March 30, 2007, after a long battle with cancer.
He was formerly of Clay County. He was a laborer in lawn service and a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church of Belle.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Pyatt; brothers, Ed and Bill Pyatt; and sister, Gilda Samples.
He is survived by his companion of 21 years, Carolyn Moore of Hurricane; daughters, Tabitha Marie Pyatt Parsons of Shady Side, Ohio, and Cassidy Rachelle Pyatt of Gauley Bridge; mother, Mary Louise Pyatt of Indore; grandchildren, Alexander Jakob Parsons, Jacob Nathaniel Bird, Hannah Shay Lester, and Hailey Brooke Lester; great-granddaughter, Alhiyona Moore; brothers, Charles Pyatt of Leon, David Pyatt of Indore, and Jeffery Pyatt of Killeen, Texas; sisters, Mary Naylor of Montgomery, Ethel Hypes of Lizemores, Sandy Stewart of Smithers, Pamela Merriman of Fredericksburg, Va., and Angela Litton of Lancaster, Va.; stepchildren, Billy W. Moore Jr. of Elkhart, Ind., Pamela Moore of Milton, Jennifer Moore of Goshen, Ind.; step-grandchildren, Custtina Moore, Kyle Klein, Jacqlynn Klein, Devonta Moore, Kueira Moore, and Cruze Moore.
The service will be 1 p.m. Monday, April 2, 2007, at Cooke Funeral Home Chapel, 600 Old Fort St., Cedar Grove, with the Rev. Roy Short officiating.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
